Workshop Day – 24th February
The day will be broken up into 4, 90-minute sessions where we dive deep into core issues facing community managers today.
- Topic 1: Platform Selection, Development & Design
We’ll discuss what work should be done before initiating a platform search, how to properly define requirements and build shortlists, and how to optimize your platform design for your goals.
- Topic 2: Measuring & Optimizing for Growth
We’ll look at how to clearly measure the conversions of visitors to registered members to participants to regular members at each stage of the funnel. Number crunching will be involved, so bring your data!
- Topic 3: Influence & Relationships
After lunch we’ll spend time talking about the importance of building internal and external influence, and exactly how to do it. We’ll guide you through the process for developing a business case for community initiatives, and invest time into the planning of insider groups.
- Topic 4: TBD
You, our workshop attendees, will choose the fourth topic to ensure that we are getting at the heart of the concepts that matter most to you. Bring your top challenges, and we’ll bring our best resources.
Within these sessions, you can expect:
- Short talks packed with powerful information
- Time to share experiences and lessons with your peers
- Group exercises and skill building
- Opportunity for direct Q&A with workshop leaders
But it’s not all work and no play. We will also provide breaks, a catered lunch, and time for conversation and networking. We’re also partnering with Susan Tenby and the SF Online Community Meetup group for a post-workshop get together.
After the workshop, we will compile all of the day’s training and notes into a reference guide that you can use in your day-to-day work. The reference guide will be delivered to your inbox in a PDF format within 1-2 weeks following the event.
